Ernest is an Associate in the Energy, Resources & Infrastructure Department of the Firm. His practice areas cover energy, resources, infrastructure, tax, and various legal aspects of doing business in Zambia.
Ernest has a deep understanding of the Zambian power sector, and some of his work includes tax structuring advice for independent power projects, advice on cross-border electricity trading, and labour law advice. Further, Ernest advises the biggest mining companies in the country on, inter alia, compliance, environmental law, and inward investments. His infrastructure experience includes due diligence work, advice on public-private partnerships in the transport sector, and tax advice on the Lusaka Water Supply, Sanitation, and Drainage Project Millennium Challenge project.
Ernest holds an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand, an LLM from the University of Cape Town, and an MSc, from the University of Leeds. He is currently pursuing a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand, his alma mater.
Ernest is an Advocate of the Superior Courts of Zambia and is a member of the Law Association of Zambia.
