Corpus Champions ESG Through a Tree Planting Exercise and a Donation at Bauleni Special Needs School on World Environment Day

Lusaka, 7th June 2024 – In a steadfast commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, Corpus conducted a tree planting exercise and donated assorted gardening tools at Bauleni Special Needs School on World Environment Day (5 June 2024).

This move is a testament that beyond working on ESG matters, Corpus is invested in protecting the environment, fostering sustainable development and supporting local communities.

Managing Partner, Sydney Chisenga, addressed the learners with an inspiring message about the importance of protecting the environment. He emphasized how individual and collective actions can significantly impact the planet’s health, urging the pupils to become stewards of their environment.

Protecting our environment is not just a responsibility but a necessity for our future,” Mr. Chisenga reiterated. “By planting these trees, we are investing in a sustainable future for generations to come.

Mr. Chisenga was accompanied by Partner and Head of Corporate Advisory, Jacqueline Jhala, General Manager, Lackson Mukuma, and Corpus Globe Corporate Solutions General Manager and Operations Manager, Kondwani Lungu and Carol Johnstone Siliya, respectively.

The initiative was in line with this year’s World Environment Day theme, ‘Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.’ This theme underscores the urgent need to adopt practices that restore degraded lands, combat desertification, and build resilience against drought. By focusing on these areas, Corpus aims to contribute to global efforts in mitigating climate change and promoting environmental sustainability
