Personal Experience

Sampa is an Associate in the Energy, Resources and Infrastructure department of the firm with 4 years’ experience with significant experience in advising on infrastructure, resources and energy projects to numerous clients which include Nederlandse Financierings- Maatschappij voor Ontwikkelingslanden N.V. (FMO), Eastern and Southern African Trade Development Bank (commonly referred to as the PTA Bank), Rio Tinto and others on all aspects of their business.

Sampa also has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital market transactions, syndicated lending, corporate financing, project financing, export credit financing and debt restructuring.

Sampa focuses on advising major multinational clients and large corporate entities on a variety of their business-critical and transformational transactions as well as complex intra-group reorganizations, joint ventures, and strategic investments.

He has a unique blend of private and public experience, having worked in the Legal Department of the Industrial Development Corporation Limited (Zambia’s sovereign wealth fund), where he advised and represented the interests of Republic of Zambia in strategic investments to spearhead industrialisation and the value addition for the creation of wealth, jobs and sustainable social economic growth. With this experience, Sampa understands the business environment in Zambia especially where it relates to aspects of aligning public interests with those of private clients.

Sampa is a member of the Law Association of Zambia and is an advocate of the Superior Courts of Zambia. He holds an LLB from the University of Witwatersrand.
